Cinnamon Sugar Candied Walnuts

  • 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • ¼ Cup Water
  • 1 Pound Walnut Halves
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon Kosher Salt Less if using fine grain salt!


  • In a large, heavy bottomed stainless steel skillet, combine water and sugar. Stir together with a metal spoon, and turn the heat to medium high.
  • Stirring occasionally, cook the sugar and water until it boils. Then allow it to boil for 1 minute.
  • Add walnuts, cinnamon and salt. Stir to coat everything in the syrup, then turn the burner off.
  • Continue stirring until the sugar has crystallized. This will take about 1 minute.
  • Allow to cool in the pan, then pack them up for give as a gift or begin snacking.
