¾teaspoonGarlic Powder
¾teaspoonPaprika
Salt and Black Pepper
1teaspoonWorcestershire sauce
1teaspoonMolasses
½CupBarbecue Sauce
1 ½teaspoonBrown Sugaroptional
Instructions
Sauté the onion in olive oil in a skillet over medium heat stirring occasionally until soft- about 3-4 minutes. Add chili flakes, garlic and paprika to the onion and let cook for about one minute.
Add pulled jackfruit to the sauté pan along with the Worcestershire sauce, molasses and barbecue sauce. Turn heat to low and stir to combine. Let the mixture cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes to let the flavors combine.
Taste the jackfruit and if you want to add a touch of brown sugar add it now, stir well to combine, remove from heat and enjoy!
Notes
* If you are using the canned jackfruit like I did, I recommend draining then pulling the jackfruit and then rinsing well after you have pulled it to make sure it doesn’t taste like the can.
