- 1 Cup Light Brown Sugar, tightly packed
- 1 Cup Water
- 1 Large Cinnamon Stick
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
In a small saucepan, combine light brown sugar, water and a cinnamon stick. Stir to combine, then place the saucepan over medium heat.
1 Cup Light Brown Sugar, tightly packed, 1 Cup Water, 1 Large Cinnamon Stick
Bring the mixture to a boil, then allow it to boil for 1 minute to allow time for all of the sugar to dissolve. See note! Remove from heat, then add vanilla extract.
Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then pour it into a heat-safe container and use immediately or store in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks.
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Store the syrup with the cinnamon stick in it so the cinnamon can continue infusing!
After 1 minute of boiling, the brown sugar should be completely dissolved. If there are sugar granules at the bottom of the saucepan, continue boiling for up to another minute until they are dissolved.
