Cucumber Basil Mocktail

This Cucumber Basil Mocktail is simple to make and is packed with fresh cucumber, basil and lemon. It is the perfect non-alcoholic drink to to make for a quiet night in or for a get-together with friends.

Equipment

  • 1 Cocktail Shaker
  • 1 Muddler
  • 1 Fine Mesh Strainer
  • 1 12-16oz Glass

Ingredients

  • Cup Chopped English Cucumber
  • 3 Medium Basil Leaves
  • 2 teaspoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 teaspoon Agave Nectar or simple syrup!
  • ¾ Cup Club Soda
  • Ice
  • Garnishes: basil leaves and lemon slices

Instructions

  • Combine cucumber, basil leaves and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker. Use a muddler or a wooden spoon to break up the cucumber. It will release a lot of juice. See note!
    ⅓ Cup Chopped English Cucumber, 3 Medium Basil Leaves, 2 teaspoon Lemon Juice
  • Strain the muddle mixture into a 12-16 ounce glass. Use the back of a spoon to press the cucumber and basil to extract all the liquid.
  • Add agave nectar and club soda to the glass and stir. Add ice, top with additional garnishes and serve!

Notes

The cucumber and basil flavor comes from muddling them in the first step, so take your time and get that flavor out! You will be surprised at how much liquid comes out of a cucumber.
