How to Make Homemade Brown Sugar

Homemade Brown Sugar is so simple to make, and I'll show you how! You only need 2 ingredients and 5 minutes, and it can be used in any recipe that calls for brown sugar.

Equipment

  • 1 Large Bowl
  • 1 Stand Mixer fitted with Paddle Attachment, or Hand Mixer
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Unsulphured Molasses I love Grandma's brand

Instructions

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, add granulated sugar and molasses. See note!
    1 Cup Granulated Sugar, 1 tablespoon Unsulphured Molasses
  • Mix on low until everything is well combined. It will take 2-3 minutes.
  • Use as desired!

Notes

To make dark brown sugar, use 2 tablespoons of molasses for every cup of granulated sugar.
You can also use a large bowl and a hand mixer, or just a large bowl and a rubber spatula to mix the homemade brown sugar.
This recipe can be used in any recipe that calls for light brown sugar.
