Equipment

  • 1 Small Saucepan
  • 1 Small Whisk
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoon Granulated Sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Cocoa Powder
  • 3 Tbsp Water
  • Pinch Salt Optional
  • 2 Cups Oat Milk or other non-dairy milk
  • ¼ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • Vegan Marshmallows and Shaved Chocoalte to Garnish Optional

Instructions

  • In a small sauce pan over medium heat, combine sugar, cocoa powder, water and salt. Cook, whisking constantly until the mixture comes to a full boil, about 2-3 minutes.
    3 tablespoon Granulated Sugar, 2 tablespoon Cocoa Powder, 3 tablespoon Water, Pinch Salt
  • Add oat milk and vanilla and whisk. Cook until the mixture is hot, then remove from heat.
    2 Cups Oat Milk, ¼ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • Pour into two mugs and top with marshmallows, vegan whipped cream and shaved chocolate if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

This recipe will be great with any non-dairy milk, but oat milk is my favorite.
Make sure to allow the chocolate and sugar mixture to come to a full boil in the first step. This will ensure the sugar completely dissolves and that any cocoa powder clumps dissolve.
