Whole Green Cardamom Pods: I like to use cardamom in the pods for this recipe. Cardamom can be tricky to find, at least it is in my area. So, I recommend ordering it online.
Brown Sugar: Brown sugar brings out the warmth in the cardamom.
White Sugar: White sugar balances the brown sugar, allowing the flavor of the cardamom to shine through.
Types of Cardamom
Green cardamom is the most common type of cardamom used in baking and drink recipes. It is citrusy, spicy, and floral.
Green cardamom comes in three ways: in its pod, whole seed, or ground seed. I like to use ground seeds for baking, but whole in the pod for recipes like this Cardamom Syrup.
Black cardamom is a relative of green cardamom but has a very smoky flavor. It is not typically used in baking.
Instructions

Step 1. Combine brown sugar, granulated sugar, cardamom pods, and water in a 2-quart saucepan.
