    This two-ingredient Lavender Simple Syrup recipe is easy to make and is so delicious in cocktails and coffee drinks! And you can keep it in your refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

    Homemade syrups are an easy way to make fun cocktails and coffee drinks whener the craving strikes! I love to keep a container or Strawberry Syrup, or Bourbon Maple Syrup, Vanilla Bean Syrup or even a jar of Vegan Salted Caramel Sauce in my refrigerator to spruce up my morning latte.

    And this Lavender Simple Syrup recipe is the ultimate multi-purpose simple syrup. It's incredible in coffee, cocktails, matcha and mocktails! It has a floral flavor that is delicious in so many drinks. And you only need 2 ingredients and about 20 minutes to make it!

    Ingredients

    Ingredients needed to make this recipe in small bowls on a marble surface.

    Dried Lavender: The lavender flavor in this recipe comes from dried lavender flowers! Make sure to grab a lavender that is culinary grade and that there is no added fragrance or flavors in it.

    Sugar: Use regular white granulated sugar for this recipe.

    Instructions

    Sugar, water and dried lavender flowers in a small saucepan.

    Step 1. In a 1-quart sauce pan, combine sugar, water and dried lavender flowers.

    Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stirring occasionally, bring the mixture to a boil and allow it to boil for 1 minute.

    There should be no undissolved sugar granules.

    Step 2. Remove the saucepan from heat and place a lid on top.

    Allow the Lavender Simple Syrup to steep for 15 minutes.

    Step 3. After 15 minutes, remove the lid. This is what the mixture should look like.

    Straining the lavender flowers out of the syrup and pressing them with a spoon to remove excess liquid.

    Step 4. Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer. Use the back of a spoon to press the lavender flowers to squeeze any remaining liquid out of them.

    Use immediately, or store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

    • Use this syrup it to make a cocktail like a Lavender Gimlet
    • Add some to your matcha for a Lavender Matcha Latte
    • Add it to your next mocktail like my Blueberry Lavender Mocktail.
    • Combine it with espresso and milk for a delicious Lavender Oat Milk Latte.

    How should I store the syrup?

    Store the syrup in a container with a tight-fitting lid in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

    Is lavender syrup good in coffee?

    Yes! It adds a nice fresh floral flavor to the coffee. It is especially delicious in a latte.

    What is lavender simple syrup made of?

    Sugar, water and dried culinary lavender are the only ingredients you need!

    Expert Recipe Tips

    When you bring the syrup to a boil, make sure there are no remaining sugar granules that have not been dissolved.

    If you see remaining sugar granules, give the mixture a stir and allow it to boil for a few more seconds.

    Equipment

    • 1 1-Quart Saucepan with Lid
    • 1 Fine Mesh Strainer

    Ingredients
      

    • 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
    • 1 Cup Water
    • 4 teaspoon Dried Lavender See Note!

    Instructions
     

    • Combined sugar, water and dried lavender in a small saucepan.
      1 Cup Granulated Sugar, 1 Cup Water, 4 teaspoon Dried Lavender
    • Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally. Allow the mixture to boil for 1 minute. See Note!
    • Remove the pot from heat and place a lid on top. Allow the mixture to steep for 15 minutes.
    • After 15 minutes, remove the lid and pour the mixture through fine mash strainer into a container that has a tight fitting lid. Use the back of a spoon to press the lavender flowers to remove the liquid they are holding onto. That liquid is the most flavorful!
    • Use immediately, or place a lid onto the container and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

    Notes

    Be sure to use culinary grade lavender. There should be NO added flavors or fragrances.
