    • This Lavender Oat Milk Latte is completely vegan and gluten-free.
    • You can make this latte hot or iced.
    • And most importantly, it's absolutely delicious!

    Ingredients

Ingredients for making this recipe in small bowls on a marble surface.

Oat Milk: I like to use an unsweetened oat milk for this recipe.

Dried Lavender Flowers: Make sure the lavender flowers are culinary grade. There should be no added flavorings or fragrances.

Espresso Roast Coffee: Use any espresso you like!

    Special Equipment

You need some type of espresso maker for this Lavender Latte recipe, whether its an espresso machine, a Nespresso or a Moka Pot.

I have a tiny kitchen, so I am partial to the Moka Pot.

If you have an espresso machine with a steam wand, use it to froth your oat milk! If not, hand held milk frother will work.

    Instructions

Lavender flowers, water and sugar in a small saucepan.

Step 1. First make the lavender syrup. In a small saucepan, combine sugar, water and dried lavender.

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat and allow it to boil for one minute.

Then, place a lid on the pot and allow the mixture to steep for 15 minutes.

Lavender syrup being strained through a fine mesh strainer.

Step 2. Next, pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a container with a tight-fitting lid.

Use the back of a spoon to press the lavender to release any liquid they are holding on to.

Use the syrup immediately, or store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Espresso and lavender syrup in a mug.

Step 3. Combine espresso and lavender syrup in a large mug.

Frothed oat milk poured over the espresso in a mug.

Step 4. Use a steam wand to heat and froth the oat milk, or heat it in the microwave and use a hand-held milk frother to froth it up.

Finally, pour the warm, frothy oat milk over the espresso and serve your delicious Lavender Oat Milk Latte.

    Recipe FAQs

How should I store lavender simple syrup?

Pour the simple syrup into a container with an airtight lid. Then, store it in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Does lavender taste good in coffee?

Yes! Lavender syrup adds a delicious floral flavor which is really nice with the espresso.

    Does oat milk froth up?

Yes! But, if you are really worried, barista blend oat milks are specifically designed for frothing, so grab one of those!

    Expert Recipe Tips

To make this Lavender Oat Milk Latte iced, pour the lavender syrup and espresso into a glass, then fill the glass with ice. Next, top it off with oat milk and give it a stir. Enjoy!
