Ingredients
Canned Butter Beans: Butter beans are the "adult" version of lima beans! They are not grainy like lima beans. They are soft and blend super smooth and creamy. I like to use canned butter beans for ease.
Tahini: Tahini makes the hummus smooth and creamy.
Fresh Lemon Juice: Use fresh lemon juice, here! I promise it makes a difference.
Garlic: A clove of fresh garlic adds so much flavor!

Tahini is sesame paste. Think peanut butter, but made of sesame seeds.
Expert Recipes Tips
I have added a range of salt to this recipe, because everyone has different preferences. So, start with ¼ teaspoon and taste the hummus before adding more!
Be sure to grate the garlic with a microplane, or press it through a garlic press before adding it into the food processor.
Top your butter bean hummus with whatever you like. I used a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and a pinch of sumac, but you could top it with fresh herbs, toasted pine nuts or even blistered cherry tomatoes!
